Rating your Mayor
How good is your mayor?

City Mayors introduces Mayor Monitor (MM), which allows residents and non-residents to rate the performance of mayors and highlight their ‘best’ and ‘worst’ decisions. Mayor Monitor uses the widely understood one-to-ten rating system, where '1' signifies an extremely poor performance and '10' ‘an outstanding one. You may assess a mayor of your choice or select one from our below list. Once a mayor has received a sufficient number of assessments he or she will be added to our list.

Over time, Mayor Monitor will provide a valuable track record of mayors’ successes and failures as well as their popularity among residents and a wider public. The results will be published on the City Mayors website and updated regularly. The ratings will also become a contributory factor of World Mayor 2010.

In order to eliminate multiple, fraudulent and/or organised rating by political foes and friends of mayors, all submissions are processed manually and, if deemed questionable, cross-checked.

Commenting:

On Mayor Franklin (Atlanta): She should remember that she was elected Mayor of Atlanta and devote more time to her job. More

On Mayor Dixon (Baltimore): Thank you Mayor Dixon for keeping your promises to the people. More

On Mayor Daley (Chicago): I just want to take a moment to congratulate Mayor Daley for doing such an outstanding job in office. More

On Mayor Hickenlooper (Denver): Why is Denver a sanctuary city for illegals? More

On Mayor White (Houston): Thank you for being a people’s mayor, who is willing to listen and take on challenges which have him to go down fighting and coming out squeaky clean. More

On Mayor McCallion (Mississauga): She's just a tiger and I think she's awesome with what she has done standing up for Mississauga. I can't really imagine this city without her. More

On Mayor Bloomberg (New York City): I disagree with Mayor Bloomberg trying to change the mayoral term limits. His time is up Nov 2009 and he should move on and let someone new fill the position. More

On Mayor Miller (Toronto): Please stop talking about a gun-free city. It will never happen. More

On Mayor Fenty (Washington DC): His worst mistake is leading with a dictatorial, top down approach to almost all decisions. More

On Mayor Arzú (Guatemala City): He should stay in office for 10 more years! More

On Mayor Ebrard (Mexico City): Promoting and using energy efficient vehicles to reduce his government’s carbon footprint More

On Mayor Cohen (Amsterdam): Job is a great mayor. In Amsterdam we have our own character and rules, he manages to adjust these without causing too much of a fuss. More

On Mayor Kaklamanis (Athens): Instead of providing a proper refuse collection service,e Kaklamanis has allowed gypsy rag-and-bone men to run around Athens all day long, every day of the week. More

On Mayor Wowereit (Berlin): The city of Berlin is cultural at the top! I wish The Major all the best and continued success. More

On Mayor Salomon (Freiburg): A brilliant decision to introduce the one-euro lunch for all poor children in public schools. More

On Mayor Johnson (London): It was a mistake to reverse the congestion charge increase for 4x4s. Other mistakes: Poorly executed public transport alcohol ban. Several resignations after only two months. Wastefully reintroducing outdated Routemasters buses. More

On Mayor Alemannno (Rome): Concerning the comments of Rome’s Mayor Gianni Alemanno after the attack of two of our tourists, I would like to let you know that the Dutch people are very upset. More
